Jackalope Animatronic Build

Adding New Skin

Once the original skin of the animatronic was removed, I began patterning for the new rabbit skin. I made an initial mock up out of scrap cotton muslin, and then traced it onto the faux fur. The piece was then sewn on a machine, and attached to the base of the animatronic. After which, it was stuffed to give it a plush look. For the face portion, a larger circle of faux fur was cut out and gathered to make a dome shape, this was then attached to the neck and stuffed. Once the stuffing was complete, it was shaped via strategic hand sewing. Finally, ears were added that I patterned on paper before cutting out of the fabric. The ears have artmature wire through them, so they are poseable.
